Oh Bagel, My Bagel...

Okay, okay...so I'm posting way too many things about food recently and most especially from the bread recipe that I obviously can't get enough of. Two things are clear: this bread recipe rocks and I have a serious addiction to carbs. Because this recipe is so easy, I have made it into lots of different things already. Last night though as I was putting away some pans I noticed my donut pan and the possibility of bagels came to mind. I had to make my weekly loaf anyway and some hamburger buns, so I doubled my batch and made the following: Cinnamon Raisin Bagels, Blueberry Bagels and Chocolate Chip Bagels. Granted, they aren't the hard, dense bagel you're used to, but honestly it's almost better because they are yeasty, fresh and just plain delicious! So here's what I used and did in case you're interested in venturing into your own world of bagel making...

1. Wilton Brand Donut Pans (I got mine from AC Moore)

2. Enjoy Life Brand Mini Chocolate Chips (dairy free, etc and you would NEVER know the difference). I simply poured some into my hand and worked them into the dough before twisting around my donut pan.

3. Cascadian Farm Frozen Blueberries. I don't know how using fresh would be yet, but using frozen kept them from squirting everywhere and losing juice!

4. The Cinn/Raisin is pretty obvious. I topped all of them with just a sprinkle of raw sugar before hitting the oven at 400F for about 15ish minutes.

I've also done Cinnamon Rolls with this recipe in a skillet in the oven by simply rolling about 6 rolls mixed with cinn/sugar in a cast iron skillet with some coconut oil and baked for about 15 or 20 min. Oh my!

YUUUUMMMMM! Happy Bagel Making!
