LAVENDER & HONEY LEMONDADE!

Dear friends,

Just in time for spring!! Three amazing ingredients in one delicious and refreshing drink!! I could write a novel-long post about the benefits of honey, let alone lavender and lemon. But I won't. The short of it is this...

Honey contains flavonoids and antioxidants which can reduce the risk of some cancers and heart disease. It's anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, it can help heal ulcers and gastro issues and about 50 other things.

Lemon is loaded with not only the obvious citrus vitamins such as C, but it contains minerals like copper, magnesium and potassium. It aids in digestion, helps with weight loss, can stop internal bleeding, helps with dental issues and can even cure Malaria and Cholera! What? Yes...it's powerful.

Lavender is one of the most amazing herbs out there and if you have never seen a lavender field...it is breathtaking! As a plant it grows beautiful, purple flowers. The flowers can be used fresh or dried and can be used in everything from body care products to baked goods! As an oil it is generally known as one of the safest and most non-toxic (although you should still know how to use it as an oil before doing so). And let's see...bug repellent, acne, insomnia, headaches, urine flow, respiratory, cancer, digestion, blood circulation, anxiety, immunity, muscle and joint pain, hair loss and more.

These are just snippets of the benefits of these three awesome ingredients. So why in the world would you not give a delicious lemonade a try that can be so beneficial? Lemonade made with raw honey is SO much better for you than sugar and it's a delicious way for your kiddos to have a sweet drink without getting the extra little "unhealthies" that would be in regular sweet, summer drinks.

LAVENDER & HONEY LEMONADE

6 cups of water
1 tiny drop of Lavender Essential Oil...you can purchase it here!
1/2-3/4 cup of raw honey
3 juiced organic lemons

Just mix it all together until the honey is blended...you can also double this recipe and still only use one single drop of Lavender oil if you want the lavender more diluted. That's up to you!

It's refreshing, tasty and easy to make! With spring and summer just around the corner, it's a wonderful way to get in the mood!!
