We are more than a fortunate society. For the most part, we can get what we want when we want it. On Thanksgiving, history is usually pushed aside for the fact that we get to stuff our faces for a whole day with things that we look forward to all year. This year though, I encourage each of you to verbally give thanks. There may be health issues, family problems, financial difficulties or the holidays may just be a sad time for you. Don't let these things bring you down! You have been given life, no matter what trials you are faced with throughout it and you have a chance to make a difference in other people's lives even if you're not willing to come face to face with your own.
This Thanksgiving give thanks for what you do have instead of focusing on what you don't because there is ALWAYS someone out there less fortunate than yourself. While your eating everything you like tomorrow, give thanks for the food that has been provided to you and give a thought or prayer of compassion for the millions of hungry and starving people in the world that go without food every day.
